Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Provides assessment of chemical use problems, creates and monitors individualized treatment plans, provides family counseling and chemical health counseling services to individuals with chemical abuse problems; and performs related duties as assigned. Works with adolescent clients and their families.
MINIMUM Qualifications:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited chemical dependency counselor training program and a Bachelor's degree.
Experience:
At least one year of outpatient or inpatient program experience.
Knowledge, Skills
& Abilities:
Must not have had a felony conviction or have been incarcerated as a result of a felony conviction in the last three years. Must be free of chemical use problems for a period of two years. Must have successfully completed a background study in accordance with Minnesota Rule 11.
Ability to communicate with people and fellow employees.
Ability to use the twelve core functions of counseling with clients.
Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Minnesota Alcohol and Drug Counselor license, or Temporary Permit to Practice, and Alcohol and Drug Counselor License within one year.
Additional Information:
Must have at least 1 year of experience working as an LADC.
